I figure I'm going to be referring to my temporary-job-that-follows-a-Ph.D. fairly frequently in the coming months. I tend to refer to such a job as a "post-doc", but I've noticed lots of people write "postdoc" and some write "post doc". Please weigh in using the poll on the side bar, or leave a comment with your remarks. Only vote once. I will use whichever one gets the most votes after the poll closes.

When given the three different options, I couldn't remember if I write postdoc or post doc! Had to go and check my own blog, haha :)
My feeling is that postdoctoral = one word, therefore postdoc = one word. Mind you I break this rule sometimes, when I'm being a sloppy proofreader!
Pixie - it's confusing!
Cath, I use similar logic, but I tend to think of the word as post-doctoral.
I'm also in the post-doctoral camp, but I know I sometimes write postdoc. I've thought about this before, too, and my conclusion was that it's pretty screwed up that I don't even know how to spell my own occupation.
I think of it as post-doctoral too. And that's what I say too, so my vote goes towards post-doc.
Maybe your poll misses one option (see item 4 here: http://www.phdcomics.com/comics/archive.php?comicid=1271 )
;)
I forced to choose I'd probably go for postdoc.
