- Convened the 150-person conference for which I was the lead organizer.
- Hosted Ecogeoman's parents for a month. In our one-bedroom apartment.
- Coordinated the local travel of EGM's friends and family who were all visiting from overseas, including three of his friends (one with his baby), his brother + wife (who had different itineraries), his sister + wife + toddler.
- Traveled to my hometown.
- Had my car break down as soon as we got there.
- Bought a new car the next day.
- Had our wedding.
Today I went to a seminar, had lunch with the speaker, read part of a paper that I am refereeing, downloaded the guide to authors for a journal we are targeting for a paper that's already been reviewed at two other journals, and read a few of the autism-related articles in the special feature of Nature (or was it Science? Doesn't matter, this is utterly unrelated to anything at all that I do). And looked at Facebook a whole lot.
I have something due-ish tomorrow, so hopefully that will spur greater productivity than today.

You've had quite the busy 6 weeks!
And I like that you didn't end your first bullet with a preposition. :-)
Congratulations!!
Congrats!!!
Congratulations on your wedding!
Congrats on getting married!!!!!!
Oh, you thought you could just sneak in the last bullet point in there like that :) Congratulations to you and your Hubby! So glad both your families were able to celebrate with you, and best wishes for a happy life together!
P.S. Both mine and Hubby's cars broke down the week before our wedding. Do they get stressed too or something?
Thanks, All.
SG, it was super cool that we could have both families and some of EGM's closest friends. How special. I'm very glad we had the big wedding instead of just eloping (as many people suggested we do). very shitty that you lost 2 cars before your wedding! Mine had 185,000 miles, so it wasn't terribly upsetting that it died, just that it died then. And I guess at 1.9% interest, financing the new car with a small down payment isn't as bad as it could be, but still. I really didn't want to go car shopping the Tuesday before my wedding!
Congrats! (my other comment went away - I was simply nosey and wondered if you did indeed pick the dress we voted on here? :) )
I can't imagine having in-laws (or my own parents for that matter) with me and SO in a one bedroom for a month. You all must be really well mannered!! And even if it is nice to have space, I'm sure it will feel a little empty the first couple of days?!
Congratulations!
Our washer and dryer died three days before our wedding. Within ten minutes of each other. Before I'd washed all the stuff we needed for our honeymoon. Mr E Man said it was a good omen, because the washer and dryer were a matching set - just like us! I got mad that he thought dying on the same day was a good omen for a wedding.
I think it's just Murphy's law.
Wow, you have been busy! Kudos on hosting your in-laws in a 1BR for a month... that would not be easy for me. And congrats, of course!!
Cath, I love your washer/dryer story :)
