Ecogeoman was walking to class today when he felt a snap in his calf. He could walk, but only on his tip-toes (I'm sure he looked very graceful walking down the street!). There is severe pain in the lower inside part of his calf muscle when he flexes his foot. I guess he pulled a muscle(?).
I had to pick him up and drive him home from work (he would have taken public, but it would have involved too much walking and too many stairs). So now he has ice on it after taking Excedrin Back and Body (acetaminophen + aspirin). Any other advice?

You sure it's not his Achilles? My Dad was once playing squash (I think it's called racket ball in the US< or is that a different game?) when his opponent's AT snapped - audibly. My advice would be to get it checked out ASAP if it isn't better tomorrow. Hope EGM is OK!
I didn't mean to freak you out BTW, it's apparently very fixable if it is his Achilles!
I thought guys from Far Away Land where tough! But I hope EGM is ok by the morning.
Oh, poor EGM! Yes, get it checked out for sure!!
Sorry to hear that. I second the having it checked out by a doctor suggestions. Hope he's better soon.
Ouch!! Severe pain and a snap - I'd get an xray to rule out any minor break. And ice sounds like a good thing.
Yes, doctor for sure!!
Thanks for the well wishes -- I'll pass them along. He seems to be doing MUCH better today. I think he'll make a dr appointment if it lingers or gets intermittently worse, but so far so good.
