Buzz totally sucks

I know I'm not the first person to post about the new Buzz app in gmail, but I'm annoyed enough to add to the dialog.  If you have ever emailed me from your gmail account, I can see your name and possibly your photo.  If you have ever emailed me from your pseudonymous bloggy gmail account but had your real name attached to the account, I can see your name and possibly your photo.

I will of course keep this info to myself, but it sucks, huh?  If you have your real name associated with your bloggy gmail account, I recommend changing it to your pseud.

Lame.

Yep. It does suck. Also, if you import your pseudonym gmail to your real gmail (via imap or POP), then you can get followed on your real gmail. I'm most displeased.

I've been so glad these last few days that I've never had a gmail account. Am not likely to get into Buzz after all this nonsense, either.

These combined gmail accounts are weird anyway -- even if you send something from a different address (say, the bloggy one) your main address is shown somewhere. I have an email client that shows it right on the default screen, which is how I noticed. Not really what you want for your privacy.

I am SO glad that I got one of my primary e-mail addresses before they had any verification policies. So my blog-related e-mail address is linked to an e-mail account that has no identifying data other than a first initial.

I totally agree! I've removed all the linked applications, blocked everyone who was automatically following me, unfollowed everyone I was automatically following, and turned Buzz off. Hope that works, although it looks like Google is trying to make it better now.

Ugh...there is definitely such a thing as too much connecting, sharing and following!

The other thing is that your automatic following / follower lists reflect your most frequent email conversations. A lot of people would be very averse to having that information public.

I think I'm going to turn Buzz off too.

Heh - buzz off. That was unintentional but very apt.
